David was born on September 3, 1968 in Miami, Florida to Rita Therese Buzzella and Richard Clark Delaney. He married Evelyn Gesultura on November 14, 2005 in the Philippines. David began serving his country by joining the U.S. army as a reservist on September 3, 1987. He would later go active duty with the army, serving until January 17, 1992. During his time in the Army, David was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Despite being out of the military for four years, David decided it was time to serve his country once again, this time in the U.S. Marine Corps. David was awarded the Kuwait Liberation Medal during his service from January 22, 1996 to July 21, 1997.
David’s passion, dedication and commitment to serve his country only grew stronger after he decided he wanted to join the United States Border Patrol. On December 9, 2002, he became a member of Border Patrol Academy session #536 and was assigned to the Calexico Station in The El Centro Sector. David transferred to Big Bend National Park Sub-Station of Alpine in the Big Bend Sector in 2011. His commitment to live life to its fullest, the unwavering love for his family and the passion with which he served his country is something that we can all strive to emulate. “Honor First!” He will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts forever! David is preceded in death by his parents; Richard Clark and Rita Therese Delaney. He is survived by his wife Evelyn G. Delaney; two daughters, Angelica Skye Delaney and Caitria Eilinora Delaney; one son, Jonas Brian Delaney, all of Big Bend National Park; Sister, Dianne Suddeth of Mars Hill, NC; and brother, Brian Delany.
