Jarod Charles Dittman 28, formerly of Centre County Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2008. He leaves behind a beloved wife, Pavlina, and daughter, Angela Nicole. Jarod was born September 6, 1979 in Fargo, North Dakota. He graduated from Philipsburg-Osceola High School in 1998 and later went on to graduate from The Pennsylvania State University. He married Pavlina Dudeva on May 20, 2004 in Skopje Macedonia. Angela Nicole Dittman, his precious daughter, was born on October 27, 2006 in State College, Pa. Jarod was a member of the Civil War Reenactment group the 148th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company C. He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was deployed to Kosovo and to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Jarod was a patriotic man. He continued in his service to his country and began his career as a Border Patrol Agent for the Department of Homeland Security in March of 2007. He loved his career and his fellow agents. He died while in the line of duty. On Saturday, April 5, 2008, Jarod's sacrifice and life were honored in a memorial service in San Diego, CA attended by approximately 1000 fellow service members and accompanied by a full motorcade involving over 200 police and official vehicles.
Jarod was a giving and gentle man who would help anyone and did. While deployed to Kosovo he saw that the children were in need of winter clothing and orchestrated a drive to collect coats and boots in the U.S. and then distributed them throughout the countryside. Jarod was a loving man who considered family top priority. He was committed and dedicated to showing those around him how much he cared for them. Jarod was a godly man. He was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist church and lived his life as a follower of Jesus Christ.
